Decision-Making Process
The highest decision-making power in Kemi corresponds to the city council, which has 43 delegates. Delegates and their deputies are elected in municipal elections that are held once every four years.
The council’s executive committee is responsible for the council’s administrative and financial management tasks and for implementing the council’s decisions.
The meeting documents of the city council, executive committee and boards are published via the local public information network. Prior to publication, confidential information as well as personal data that is not necessary for the publication shall be deleted. Members of the municipal government are deemed to have received information regarding decisions seven days after the minutes have been published via the public information network.
